Fewer and fewer people pace the empty sidewalks. Those that dare, pause to peruse the apologetic “Closed” signs that local stores post in darkened windows. A car passes slowly, the driver wearing a surgical mask. The looming threat of COVID-19 has turned these once familiar streets into a stark fever dream.
This pandemic impacts us all with an abrupt affront to regular routine. Most of our clients made the transition from the office to working from home earlier this week. After fielding a frantic flurry of phone calls to reset forgotten VPN credentials or configure a quickly purchased home computer, we at TechTonic are pleased to find that proper planning has positioned most of the people we support to be productive right away when it became necessary for them to work from home.
The remote access solutions we offer allowed us to resolve issues quickly, and enabled users to continue to access their IT resources even when unable to come in to the office. No one is out of the woods yet, but TechTonic is now in a place to shift from our responsive reactive stance back to our more familiar proactive position. We are poised to help our clients, new and old, prepare for change and adapt to novel circumstances.
As part of this position, we are focusing our efforts on limiting exposure and mitigating threats with agile risk management. Over the coming weeks we will be sharing some of our experience through our blog. Here are some topics we intend to address:
